Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)

Understanding the diversity of our learners is key to ensuring that we can operate inclusively and provide everyone with the opportunity to succeed and reach their goals.

In order to do this effectively, we’d like you to help us by providing some information in this next section.

For more information on EDI please see Kaplan's EDI page

A care leaver is anyone who is between 16 and 24 years old who has spent time living in the care system, away from their family. This could be with a foster family, in a children's home or supported housing service, or under another arrangement as agreed by their social worker.

If you are a care leaver, you may be entitled to additional funding and support. Your Kaplan's Talent Coach will discuss this further with you at your first review. You can find more information about the additional support available at the link below.

Care Leaver Information

An education, health and care ( EHC ) plan is for children and young people aged up to 25 who need more support than is available through special educational needs support.

Eligibility

Following Brexit, new eligibility rules were introduced as a result of the EU Settlement Scheme offered to EU, non-EU and Swiss citizens living in the UK to protect their residence in the UK. We are required to check the status and validity of prospective apprentices that have settled or pre-settled status granted to them. This will be verified during the application review stage.

More information about EU settlement can be found on gov.uk.
